Today I found out that the National Benefits Center (NBC) received our case on 3/7/13. The information we received today came in THREE parts.
First, this morning I had the text message on my phone from 1153pm saying:
USCIS: Your case was received. Receipt #MSCXXXXXXXXXX. Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) to follow in mail. Msg & Data rates may apply. DO NOT REPLY”
I also had an email from the exact same time:
Subject: USCIS Acceptance
Confirmation”Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will received you official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXXX. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.
Followed by disclaimer, which I will not included in fear of boring you even more!
Of course I didn’t follow the recommendation of WAITING to received the official receipt in the mail and jumped right online to check the case status. It was not viewable and contained the standard message “not found….blah blah”.
At around 4pm I had my husband look online and the case was available.
“On March 7, 2013, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Your case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.”
It then goes on to state what happens during the “Acceptance Stage” and says that this stage is normally complete within 2 business days of them receiving the application.
Since I know they have received our fee and accepted our package, I think it should move onto “Initial Review” soon.
Finally, I got the inkling tonight at around 730pm to call the NBC and see if they had received our application yet (since all other info said it was “in route”.
The automated system told me that it had been received at the NBC in Missouri on 3/7/2013. It then repeated the same known information from the previous two message relating to receiving the biometrics fee and sending a receipt out through the mail.
All-in-all our application has been accepted at the Chicago Lockbox, checks cashed, transmitted to NBC, and received by NBC. All with in 4 business days of sending it off on Monday!
Also, I have been checking processing times daily and the 601A has not been listed yet.
